Professor Masato Yoshioka
I primarily conduct lectures on human physiology. The main topics of my research are 1) enhancement of liver cell proliferation for preventing liver failure after hepatectomy, and 2) protection from ischemia-reperfusion injury in the liver. In addition, I clinically research the usefulness of image analysis for grading the malignancy of various tumors
Associate Professor Hisanaga Sasaki
I conduct practice research on community-based suicide prevention in Akita, which has a very high suicide rate. I currently study the effects of suicide, with the belief that residents can participate as volunteers in prevention. I strive to broaden the scope of a community volunteer-based model in collaboration with the public administration to listen to people’s problems and provide the support that is needed.
Lecturer Midori Kaga
I conduct research on improving nursing care for patients with chronic conditions such as diabetes or patients who are in their terminal phase of life. My research focuses on how to provide care that allows patients and families to share their emotions, and on practical abilities and attitudes in nurses that allow them to practice high-quality patient care. I welcome students to join me in this research aimed at improving the quality of nursing care.
