A Greeting from the Professor
The department of Respiratory Medicine is established in 2018 and concerned with advancing knowledge of a variety of respiratory diseases.
I, Katsutoshi Nakayama, have presided as the first professor and chairman of this department and would like to emphasize two value principles in medicine: one is "science mind" and the other is "providing the best medical care”. Science mind is the spirit of sincerity and romanticism in science. Providing the best medical care is a fundamental theme for all medical professionals, including those in community medicine and advanced medical care. Based on these two value principles, our department provides the highest medical services for respiratory diseases including pneumonia, COPD, asthma, interstitial lung disease, lung cancer and so on. In addition to our high-grade clinical activities, we are also performing clinical and basic research related to respiratory diseases. We welcome additional researchers from all over the world.

- Percutaneous ultrasound for early diagnosis of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.
